Downtown

Downtown Ashland, Kentucky is generally located along Greenup, Winchester and Carter avenues between 12th and 18th streets. The main attractions of downtown include the Paramount Arts Center, an Art Deco Paramount movie theater that was constructed in 1930. After nearly meeting its fate at the hands of the wrecking ball, the theater was restored and now serves as a performing arts venue. Elsewhere is the Highlands Museum and Discovery Center, the Pendleton Art Center and the Jesse Stuart Foundation.
